LOOS Meets the Most Demanding Requirements for Chinese Market

In November 2009, the China Special Equipment Inspection (CSEI) granted LOOS, a company of the Bosch Group, Level A of the Manufacture License of Special Equipment. This license authorises LOOS to manufacture shell boilers for the Chinese market.

Level A means that the most demanding requirements have been met, and systems with pressure stages over 25bar can be manufactured. LOOS is the only foreign manufacturer of shell boilers with systems that meets the organisation's demanding requirements, and thus the only to have received this important certification.

Since 1979 LOOS has supplied approximately 1,000 boiler systems to China in all capacity ranges and types. The company's presence in China was strengthened significantly by the founding of a branch in Asia in 1981.

At the end of 1997 the Safety Quality License (the predecessor of the Manufacture License of Special Equipment) was introduced, setting for the first time strict safety and quality requirements for high-pressure boiler systems for the Chinese market. Soon after that LOOS was able to demonstrate its high project planning and manufacturing quality by quickly achieving SQL certification.

LOOS' current subsidiary, Loos China, was founded in 1999. LOOS is currently implementing an example project with the automobile manufacturer Shanghai Volkswagen. Shanghai Volkswagen is a joint venture between the Volkswagen Group and Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation (SAIC), and maintains one of the largest Volkswagen plants worldwide.

Back in 2005, two LOOS UNIMAT UT-M hot water boilers were supplied to the company. In the future, the two hot water boilers will be joined in operation by two UNIVERSAL ZFR steam boilers, each with a steam capacity of 30,000kg/hr. Modern firing systems, integrated economizers, and last but not least the high data transparency of the LOOS boiler controls — all allowing safe, fully-automatic operation with optimal energy efficiency. The plant construction company Level Engineering is responsible for the planning and installation of the system. This long-time LOOS customer is supported by the team from Loos China's Shanghai branch.

The high demand for safe and environmentally friendly products is a direct consequence of China's rapid industrialisation. New laws and guidelines are intended to increase occupational safety and to protect the air and water.

LOOS already has a tradition of placing very high demands on the quality of its products. Since the company's founding in 1865, it has supplied over 100,000 boiler systems to more than 140 countries. The outstanding manufacturing quality of LOOS boiler systems is confirmed by a large number of certifications and international seals of approval and quality.
