Steam or hot water boiler systems have a vital part to play in drinks manufacturing. All of the most important production processes, such as pasteurising, sterilising, washing, boiling or cleaning, are supported by steam or hot water. Energy must be provided reliably, economically and by environmentally friendly means. Therefore, global players, including Coca Cola, Pepsi Cola, InBev, SABMiller, Heineken and Carlsberg, have put their trust in LOOS INTERNATIONAL's modern steam and hot water generators.
The Copenhagen-based brewery group, Carlsberg, is the world's fifth largest producer of beer. Internationally, the company is famous for its Carlsberg and Tuborg brands, and in Germany, it is particularly known for the Holsten, Astra and Hannen Alt brands. Four years ago, Carlsberg took over the CELAREVO brewery in Serbia, in which it invested at least €100 million. Production capacity was increased from 500,000hLs to over 1.5 million hectolitres.
Carlsberg and the consulting company ALECTIA A/S laid down the toughest requirements for the central energy unit that was to be built. The LOOS authorized dealer, Eko Centar, based in Belgrade, convinced the owners with its offer of an energy-optimised, modular overall concept. Two LOOS UNIVERSAL UL-S steam boilers, each with a capacity of 16t/h, were installed. Integrated ECONOMISERs, combined with modern oxygen-regulated burner systems, ensure maximum efficiency and low emissions.
The boiler system is completed by a water service module (WSM), a condensate service module (CSM) and the LOOS Water Analyser (LWT). With the EHM heat recovery module, the energy in desalting water can be used to preheat the feed and make-up water. The integrative, touchscreen-controlled LBC / LSC boiler and system control provides maximum data transparency and analysis facilities to ensure economical operation at all times.
The modern, extremely efficient system was installed by the experienced Serbian plant constructors, Termicar, from Becej. When the system was commissioned by Eko Centar, it more than met the guarantee requirements. Eko Centar will also be responsible for the maintenance and servicing. In addition, the system is fitted with Teleservice facilities, which means that it can be quickly analysed and managed by LOOS specialists by remote access, if necessary.
The pioneering system has now been operating without problems for several months. Innovative, energy-saving and environmentally friendly solutions, which use modular technology that meets all the relevant standards, is what makes LOOS INTERNATIONAL so successful.
