SibCOTES has extensive experience in the development of engineering projects for design, construction and refurbishment of power units with capacities up to 800MW. This includes steam turbine units, district heating networks and associated pumping stations, new burner installations, flue gas separators and coal-pulverizing systems at power plants in Russia and overseas. TECHNOLOGY INNOVATIONS FOR POWER INDUSTRY SITESA characteristic feature of SibCOTES' work is the innovative component in its approach. For each project it undertakes, the company offers both a custom-tailored approach as well as a proven solution. SibCOTES' staff has developed and certified a number of technology innovations, which are currently being introduced at power industry sites and at production sites worldwide. Some of these include, a low NOx staged combustion system, a pneumatic flow enhancement system for raw-coal bunkers, adjustable coal-burners, high density pulverized-coal feed system and the circular furnace boiler. CIRCULAR FURNACE BOILERThe design and development of an innovative and functional coal-fired circular furnace boiler has become the driving symbol of the company. The application of the circular furnace has enabled SibCOTES to achieve the following: reduce the boiler height (by 30%-40%), provide cost-efficient combustion of problem clinkering coals without slagging, reduce NOx emissions, and decrease the installed cost of the boiler. In 2000, the scientific and technological committee of RAO "UES of Russia" endorsed the design for commercial application. An operating Circular Furnace Boiler, with a steaming capacity of 820t/h was commissioned in 1998 and is successfully operating at Novoirkutskaya CHP in Eastern Siberia (Russia). OTHER BOILER TECHNOLOGIESSibCOTES is currently engaged in work on several circulating fluidized bed (CFB) boiler designs at Irkutskaya CHP-5 and Ulan-Udenskaya CHP-2.
