Trilobes Power International (TPI), based in the Netherlands, is an independent company with expertise in managing large technical projects. TPI supplies turnkey tailored energy solutions (new or refurbished) in the range from 800kW to 50MW for industrial, commercial or residential locations around the world. It focuses on operational flexibility, technical and financial efficiency, and fuel diversity (diesel, HFO, gas or biofuel) and sustainability.
TPI can provide support or perform turnkey power development projects through the following services:
The new Trilobes containerized cogeneration unit is a stand-alone power generator set that provides instant and versatile clean power. It is supplied in specifically designed heavy-duty 40ft housing and complies with ISO container requirements.
The Trilobes containerized cogeneration unit produces both electricity and heat, and has a broad application range. The unit is suitable for both temporary and permanent installation. Its features include the following:
The standard version of the Trilobes containerized cogeneration unit is built with the above features, but can be designed according to customer request. Its additional features include the following:
In addition to liquid biofuel conversions, TPI now supplies ComAps, its attractively priced, well-proven dual fuel (DF) conversion systems. ComAp systems substantially reduce fuel costs through reliable natural gas operation of medium and high-speed diesel engines, without part modifications.
TPI supports engines from all diesel engine manufacturers in the range of 100kW-15MW. It has many years of experience with engine brands such as Caterpillar/MaK, Cummins, Hyundai, Niigata and Wärtsilä.
Advantages of ComAp DF operation include the following:
The DF conversion system consists of a gas train and rail with equipment, an additional engine control system, sensors, cabling and harnessing. Prior to installation, the engine is thoroughly inspected, and after its conversion, the dual fuel engine is tested and commissioned.
The dual fuel engine can operate on 20% of its original fuel such as diesel/HFO, while the main fuel used is natural gas. Depending on current fuel prices, this can reduce total costs by 50%. The engine can easily switch back to the original single fuel operation at any time.
At start-up and low part-load, the engine is operated on a minimum amount of the original liquid fuel. At higher engine loads, the gas portion of fuel is increased. The optimal gas portion is commonly reached at 85% of the nominal rated engine output, and depends on gas quality and engine type. Optional modifications can further improve optimal operation.
With over 50 cumulative years of diesel engine experience, TPI can support its clients with technology in specialist areas to improve efficiency, solve problems and create solutions in power generation installations. TPI provides the following diesel power technology services:
TPI has a highly competent and experienced team for the energy and shipping sector, and can rely on a broad pool of professionals and strategic alliances to support each project within its expertise.
