Levelstate Systems provide solutions at all levels for steam plant level indication and level detection applications. Products manufactured are electronic drum level indicators and electronic level switches. The user base includes power, petrochemicals, refinery, fertilizer, sugar, paper, cement, metallurgical and chemical industries in various countries including Belgium, Germany, India, Italy, Indonesia, Middle East, Netherlands, Spain, USA and UK.

Factory Mutual Research (FM), SAFed type approval service, SIRA and ERA technology have approved Levelstate products. The quality system has been accredited with ISO 9001 approval. ELECTRONIC DRUM LEVEL INDICATORS (EDLI)

Levelstate's systems are the ideal solution for overcoming the inherent problems associated the unreliable and maintenance intensive gauge glasses. The technology uses the well-established principle of resistivity discrimination between steam and water to provide a clear indication of water/steam levels in boiler drums, feedwater heaters, deaerators, condenser hotwells, steam lines, etc.

All systems include:

  • Unambiguous highly visible displays
  • 120V or 240V power supplies
  • Integral 4mA to 20mA transmission signal
  • Panel and field mount remote display options
  • Internal pushbuttons for circuit tests
  • High and low level alarms with delay action
  • Two out of three voting logic for trips
  • Unambiguous highly visible display
  • No ongoing maintenance on electronics

The product range includes:

Type 201 Electronic Drum Level Indicator:

  • 12 probe ports

Type 202 Electronic Drum Level Indicator:

  • 12 or 14 probe ports
  • Fault tolerant, fault alarm output
  • Level alarms and trip functions

Type 202 Advanced EDLI:

  • 12, 14 or 16 probe ports
  • Fault tolerant, fault alarm output
  • Open/closed circuit detection on all channels
  • Two wire connections per probe

Type 202 Microprocessor System:

  • Six to 48 probe ports
  • Dual 90V to 270V power supplies
  • Two cable connections per probe
  • Seven DPDT alarm / trip relays
  • Fault tolerant, fault alarm output
  • Probe cable monitoring
  • RS 485 port for direct DCS connection
  • Level alarms, high integrity trip functions
  • Fully programmable via handheld device

ELECTRONIC LEVEL SWITCHES (ELS)

The Levelstate Systems electronic level switches come in three different versions: 300 ELS, 300 + and 300-M. The overall system components, such as probes and cables, are the same.

The principle of resistance discrimination between water and steam is well established and accepted as the most reliable, convenient and maintenance-free method of detecting alarm levels and initiating protective actions.

By including up to four independent detection channels in one electronic unit with special features, the installed cost per detection point is appreciably lower than traditional float level switches.

Applications include:

  • Cold reheat and extraction steam lines
  • Boiler and feedwater heater levels
  • Drains flash and deaerator levels
  • Loss of hydrogen coolant

Standard features include:

  • DPDT relay on each channel
  • DPDT system fault relay
  • Water purity setting
  • Local LED panel indication
  • Normally energised / de-energised relays
  • Probe validation when used in pairs
  • Vertical or horizontal installation
  • Two core cable connections per probe
