Oilcheck, an independent testing laboratory of petroleum products, has been offering oil condition monitoring and oil analysis since 1981. We are approved by the National Australian Testing Authority (NATA) to ISO17025 and possess ISO 9001:2000 quality accreditation.
Oilcheck’s testing and analysis capabilities cover the power generation, mining, aviation and transport industries for all oils and fluids. These include grease and brake fluids, hydraulic and turbine oils, diesel and petrol engine oils, and water-based fluids.
We offer a flexible service, which is used extensively by major OEMs, contractors and equipment owners and operators throughout the Asia Pacific region. Our customised service includes online reporting, customer training and technical support.
Oilcheck uses the latest technology in oil analysis and testing equipment, and has a team of fully qualified chemists to provide clients with accurate and prompt sampling analysis and tracking reports. Our oil testing and analysis complies with Australian and international standards.
Oilcheck specialises in the analysis of lubricants for the power generation industry, as well as the mining, transport, manufacturing, marine, aviation and agriculture industries.
The cost of oil analysis is relatively small and provides the optimum serviceability of equipment, as well as the following benefits:
Oilcheck analyses the quality and contamination levels in conventional diesel and petrol fuels as well as alternative fuels including biodiesels and ethanol.
Oilcheck performs a wide range of quality checks on greases and brake fluids from all industry sectors, including mining and manufacturing. Our tribology testing of greases and oils suits the requirements of a wide range of lubricant manufacturers.
Oilcheck provides a full range of testing of various coolant types of water-based fluids, including ion analysis for the determination of additive concentration, as well as determination of glycol content and contamination levels.
Oilcheck has extensive experience in the analysis of hydraulic and turbine fluids, particularly for the power generation industry. These include oil cleanliness and oxidation levels, additive concentrations using RULER, which determines the remaining useful life of the lubricant, as well as acidity, particle size analysis, solids content and membrane patch colour as an indicator of varnish potential.
Oilcheck tests fuel dilution in-service diesel and petrol engine oils using gas chromatography. This provides accuracy to 0.2% of fuel in oil, which is more accurate than the traditional flashpoint/viscosity methodology. We always analyse engine oils at 100°C for compliance to SAE grades and soot content standardised on thermogravimetric analysis.
Hydraulic, turbine, diesel and petrol engine oils perform several crucial tasks such as lubrication and heat transfer to achieve optimum performance. Scheduled oil analysis for hydraulic, turbine, diesel and petrol engine oils is an excellent way to maintain the balance between premature failure and proactive and reactive maintenance.
Oilcheck offers the following levels of testing for hydraulic, turbine, diesel and petrol engine oil analysis:
The Oilcheck service uses a pre-paid sample test-kit system, which is sent to customers who return 125ml bottles filled with the petroleum product to be analysed. They subsequently receive a test result in an online and/or hard copy format which explains the condition of the product.
We offer ongoing support services for a range of clients’ condition monitoring and preventative maintenance systems.
