Thermo regulation is an important need for many industrial production plants, which often need to function in constant temperature conditions in order to maintain a fixed standard quality of the products. For example, in the food and beverages sector controlling temperature with special thermoregulators is always an essential part of the production cycle: imagine what happens in product lines of meat, fish or dairy products, where efficient thermorefrigerators are a must because temperature fluctuations can lead to a complete deterioration of the product, requiring a total reject of whole production stocks.

The same thermoregulation processes are employed in manufacturing of several other products that only apparently seem less sensitive. Temperature fluctuations can affect the production cycle of a mechanical piece, causing dimensional variations that at first glance can appear as risible, but in the long-life cycle of the component can lead to severe consequences: imagine a driveshaft blocked because temperature variations during its manufacturing process carried the wrong dimensional tolerances. The problem gets even more serious in the case of a thermoregulation issue during the manufacturing of a shaft intended for an airplane turbine, and the consequences can be dire.

In order to thermoregulate, maintaining at a constant level the temperature in the production site during manufacturing processes, and also taking into account important energy savings and lowering consumptions returns, Tempco engineered thermoregulating units of the T-REG series.

Depending on peculiar constant temperatures required on different production processes, T-REG thermoregulation units can be engineered to run with different kinds of fluids:

  • Anti-freezing, temperature range -30°C / +90°C
  • Water, temperature range +5°C / +90°C
  • Pressured water, temperature range +5°C / +140°C
  • Diathermic oil, temperature range +30°C / +180°C
  • High-temperature diathermic oil, temperature range +30°C / +350°C

For special applications, Tempco can also design and engineer thermoregulating solutions with even wider temperature range.

Heating system is achieved using:

  • Armoured electric resistances
  • Steam
  • Heat exchangers (SE version with energy recovery)

Heating capability range:

  • Electric heating from 3kW up to 300kW
  • Steam heating from 10kW up to 1,500kW

Even higher powers are available on demand.

All of the thermoregulation system units are enhanced with cooling section integrated, using heat exchangers circuits based on water or air.

Also units covering different temperature levels are available, that can control and preserve at the same time different temperature set points, depending on each plant’s thermoregulation needs. These T-REG units integrate:

  • Heating section
  • Middle cooling section
  • Cooling section for low temperature

Heating recovery sections can also be integrated on demand in these units.

Thermical regulation system is performed by PID electronic thermoregulators, with autotuning functions in order to achieve maximum control levels.

Thermoregulators are fully supplied with:

  • Electric control panel, with related service switches
  • Circulation pump
  • Expansion tank
  • Malfunction warning alarms

All of the thermoregulation units can also be equipped with the following optionals:

  • Remote set point
  • Electric heating activation switches using static relays (SCR)
  • Moduling valve on cooling water
  • Inverter
  • Dimmer controls for continuous power variation
  • Tropicalised version
  • PLC managing interface
  • Programmable thermoregulator with heating and cooling ramps

T-REG thermoregulation units series are engineered following requirements of the Machinery Directive, are CE marked and can also be supplied in ATEX explosion-proof versions.
