We specialize in components and engineered systems for high-quality, medium-voltage power distribution. Major product lines include power capacitor banks, harmonic filter banks, vacuum and oil switches, switchgear, capacitor controls, sectionalizing enclosures, and multi-purpose electrical gear.

SINGLE-PHASE CAPACITOR SWITCHES

Maysteel offers a range of single-phase capacitor switches, both vacuum-type and oil-type. Our premium product in this category, the solid dielectric UltraVac™ vacuum switch, offers high dielectric strength, easy installation and exceptional long-life performance. Either solenoid or motor operators are available.

AIR-INSULATED SWITCHGEAR

FlexiGear™ padmount, air-insulated switchgear consists of top-quality switches, fuses, all wiring and connectors, which are then fully assembled within a durable Maysteel enclosure. Many configurations are possible, in live-front or dead-front versions.

ProCap™ capacitor controls automatically switch pole-mount or padmount capacitor banks using combinations of time, temperature, voltage and VAR.

ELECTRICAL ENCLOSURES

As a premium manufacturer of electrical enclosures, Maysteel offers a wide variety of padmount sectionalizing cabinets, metering gear and general-purpose enclosures for electric power distribution.

A major new product is our family of Aluminum TH sectionalizing enclosures that combine the strength of steel with the corrosion resistance and light weight of a fiberglass enclosure.

CAPACITOR BANKS AND HARMONIC FILTER BANKS

Maysteel's SmartBank™ series includes capacitor banks and harmonic filter banks that are engineered, wired, tested and assembled to conform to exact customer specifications. All units meet or exceed ANSI, IEEE, NEC, NESC, UL and other applicable standards.

SHUNT CAPACITOR BANKS

Our shunt capacitor banks provide a cost-effective and practical method of improving system power factor. Either padmount or pole-mount configurations are available. In industrial applications, a major objective for a SmartBank™ installation is reducing utility charges.

Power utility applications typically focus on distribution system optimization, often with the goal of eliminating or deferring the need to add power generation capacity.

ROBUST POWER CAPACITOR BANKS

Maysteel's robust metal-enclosed power capacitor banks provide capacitive reactive power ratings up to 30MVAR in a single enclosure. Fixed or automatically switched designs, providing up to 20 steps, can be specified. Depending on the size, these units may be fully assembled or shipped in sections for field assembly.

SmartBank™ harmonic filter banks provide power factor improvement and harmonic mitigation. These units are available in fixed or automatically switched designs with up to 15 filter steps. System voltages range from 2.4 kV RMS to 34.5kV RMS.
