CBISS Ltd - Continuous Emissions Monitoring for Combustion ProcessesCBISS Ltd are an ISO9001 accredited engineering company, comprising in-house design, manufacturing, service and software capabilities in the provision of environmental and emissions monitoring instrumentation. The company provides a range of both fixed and portable gas analysers for every application associated with the combustion process, including pyrolysis, biomass and gasification. CBISS also have strong references in the provision of CEMS systems for gas turbine and Combined Heat and Power (CHP) applications. COAL/OIL FIRED COMBUSTION MONITORINGThe MIR9000 gas analyser is operational on a number of coal-fired power plants, and lends itself to applications where access to the sample point may be hindered, or where there are higher NOx Emission Limit Values (ELV). The sampling system monitors SO2, NOx, CO and particulates; can be mounted high on the stack; integrated into air-conditioned enclosures; and is either rack or wall mountable. The instrument is Mcerts certified and satisfies the requirements for LCPD, EN14181 and QAL1 reporting. GAS FIRED COMBUSTION MONITORINGThe MIR9000 CLD gas analyser utilises the Standard Reference Methods (SRM) for the monitoring of NO, N2O, NO2, NOx, CO, CO2, SO2 and O2. The analyser is a free standing monitoring system which incorporates the following technologies:
The system lends itself to low NOx applications within the power industry and has been designed and integrated with automatic switching systems to monitor from multiple sample points while providing data acquisition for each point, satisfying the requirements for QAL2 and QAL3 reporting. CHP COMBUSTION MONITORINGThe MIR-IS gas analyser is operational on a number of combined heat and power plants and lends itself to applications with easy stack access, such as boilers. The instrument is mounted directly onto the stack eliminating the requirement for an air conditioned environment. DATA ACQUISITION REPORTING SOFTWARECBISS Data Acquisition Software (CDAS) has been designed to interface with all of the aforementioned combustion monitoring instrumentation, and fulfils all of the reporting requirements of LCPD and EN14181. CDAS acquires data in real time, processes it to form corrected data, and this is then used to generate a period average. As well as emission data, other process parameters can be recorded using digital inputs including plant run status and analyser faults. On completion of a QAL2 test the gradient and intercept values can be entered into CDAS Advanced to calibrate the readings of the Standard Reference Method (SRM) carried out by the stack testers, to the fixed CEM system. CDAS Elite additionally satisfies requirements stipulated in the QAL3 section of EN14181. The required QAL3 calibration checks are fully automated within the software and are carried out at the times and dates specified by the end user. CDAS will also automatically print a report for the calibration indicating if the instrument is outside of acceptable operating limits. These are done via CUSUM or Shewhart control charts. Automated reports may be configured to meet the requirements of both the site and the EA, and can match exactly the detail outlined in the sites EA authorisation. HIRE, SERVICE AND SUPPORT All systems are fully supported by a nationwide network of service centres providing repair, calibration, preventative maintenance and remote diagnostics, in addition to the following services:
