Enviro Technology Services (ETS) is a leading supplier of continuous emissions monitoring systems (CEMS) and ambient air monitoring technology. Established in 1983, ETS is an expert at providing the equipment and support services required to help our customers meet the stringent requirements of the European large combustion plant directive (LCPD).
Our equipment is fully MCERTS and TÜV compatible, and meets many other national and international standards. Based in Stroud, UK, we have an enviable track record of supplying for small to very large power projects.
ETS has represented Opsis for over 20 years. In that time, we have supplied over 80 CEM systems to our industrial customers. Based on cross-stack DOAS technology and utilising FTIR and grating spectrometers, the analyser systems we provide are simple, robust and maintenance friendly.
Offering the lowest maintenance costs and high uptime, we believe that Opsis represents a cost-effective alternative to the age-old problems associated with extractive systems. The main features of our technology are as follows:
One of the biggest challenges confronting the power industry is compliance with the LCPD. ETS has significant experience working within this standard and helping our customers to meet the rigorous requirements. From analyser hardware through to software solutions and training, we have the complete package to help you comply with the LCPD.
A recent requirement in coal-fired power stations is to run the plant to the NOx limit to obtain maximum generation capacity without exceeding statutory emission limits. As NO2 is rarely measured directly, plants need to be run conservatively when using estimated NOx values to make sure the limits aren’t exceeded. It is frequently found in practice that real NO2 emissions are much lower than the 5% estimate often used.
Opsis UV DOAS technology for NO2 offers class-leading certification range (0mg/m² to 20mg/m2) and a detection limit of less than 0.05mg/m2.
ETS can supply systems to suit measurement and control applications for the amine, chilled ammonia and oxyfuel processes. Fast measurement of difficult parameters such as NH3 can be achieved with the LD500 laser analyser. CO2 is also a simple gas to measure using the same laser technology. Amine measurement is also possible using the AR600 UV analyser.
Opsis systems are ideally suited to the arduous duty of controlling FGD plant. As the system is cross-duct, no toxic or corrosive gases need be extracted from the stack. This makes the analysis of the feed stream to the FGD plant as simple as measuring the exit gases, providing control over dosing.
Additionally, the non-contact technique means that our maintenance costs for this arduous duty are the lowest possible. With the use of fibre-optic switching, it is sometimes possible to measure the inlet and outlet streams on one analyser.
The ever increasing drive to reduce gas emissions means that more and more investment has to be made in burner technology and SCR/SNCR plants. Opsis LD500 and AR600/650 gas analysers offer many options for process control, and emissions measurements provide fast and reliable measurement of NH3 and NOx.
