MIP Electronics - Dust and Opacity MonitorsMIP is an international designer and manufacturer of optical in-situ dust and opacity monitors. Founded in 1986, MIP is an innovative private company located in southern Finland, with a large network of distributors around the world. MIP is also active in the domestic and international research and development co-operation and seminars. MIP has delivered more than 1,000 units globally to various applications. Its main applications are coal fired power plants, paper and pulp industry, the petroleum industry, the metal industry, cement kilns and waste incinerators. The company's model range consists of several products:
DUST AND OPACITY EMISSION MONITORSMIP LM 3086 SE and LM 3086 EPA 3 are advanced optical in situ instruments for continuous dust concentration and opacity monitoring. The measurement system has a unique design principle - based on the single pass - dual path-architecture. The laser light beam crosses the measurement section once, with the receiver unit measuring and evaluating the change in the laser beam intensity signal strength due to the fluctuations in the particulate content of the stack. Additionally, the transmitter sends a zero reference signal to the receiver at 40 times per second. This provides a continuous measurement of zero and span values. This system improves the long-term accuracy of the analyser and makes this instrument unique. VIBRATION TOLERANT DUST MONITORINGFactory calibration is valid for any practical measuring length (max 20m) onsite, and the receiver unit (with 100mm diameter) offers vibration-tolerant operation. All optical surfaces are continuously monitored, and warning is given to the operator in the event that the dust accumulation is above the set limit. The monitor unit is a standard 19in rack size, and has proven its capacity in hundreds of installations worldwide. Features of these models are as follows:
NON-COMPLIANCE EMISSION MONITORINGMIP manufactures a range of products for non-compliance emission monitoring or process monitoring applications. These models can be used to implement emission monitoring if the local legislation does not require any official approval or certificate. The LM 3188AZL is a single pass transmission principal with diode laser, as well as an aadjustable alarm relay and a linear voltage output of 0V to 1V, and a current output of 4mA to 20mA. This product includes a digital LCD-display and analogue display for D-value, and implements a measuring distance of up to 6m. The LM 3188/LX 3188 offers a single pass transmission principle with diode laser (LX 3188 with LED), measuring distance up to 6m. This monitor has no moving parts, and simple optics for long life operation. Additionally, this product has an adjustable alarm relay, with a linear voltage output of 0 to1V and a current output of 4 to 20mA. The LM 3188/LX 3188 has a digital LCD-display and analogue display for D-value, and allows for simple installation and calibration. THE LA 3188 DUST FILTER MONITORThe LA 3188 monitor offers reliable monitoring of a range of different dust filters. Optional data logging software is available for this monitor, and it includes automatic alarm activation when emissions exceed specified standards. Additional features of this product include:
