VAIREX has developed a range of high performance, low cost air management systems to meet the needs of the emerging fuel cell industry and other related energy applications. These air systems are based on proprietary compressor technology. The range of capabilities includes the following product families: REGENERATIVE AIR BLOWERSRegenerative air blowers cover the range of pressure up to ratios of 1.3, with mass flow up to 16g/sec. This family of compact, motor driven air blowers is applicable to a wide range of stationary and mobile low pressure PEM and SOFC systems in the range of 1kW to 5 kW. RESTRAINED VANE COMPRESSORSRestrained vane compressors are designed for fuel cell systems operating at pressure ratios of 1.1 to 2.5 (2,500mbar) and requiring mass flows of up to 75g/sec. They provide high efficiency at low cost. The design is scalable over a wide range of mass flow requirements. The vane air systems are particularly suitable for PEM FC systems operating at medium pressures, such as stationary power systems, APUs and traction systems, operating in the range of 2kW to 75kW, or above.
