January 25, 2007; Spokane, Washington – As thousands of ice skating fans arrive in Spokane, Washington to cheer on their favorite championship skaters, the power of Aggreko will be on the scene, assuring a smooth finish for the nation’s finest figure skating athletes.

Aggreko, the world’s leading supplier of temporary power and temperature control systems, will supply a 450-ton chiller system for the Olympic size rink, providing a consistent ice surface on which over 200 skaters will compete for national titles in Lady’s, Men’s, Pair’s and Dance. Top finishers in these national championships will move on to the World Figure Skating Championships in Tokyo, Japan. The cooling capacity needed to create the ideal surface for competitors is substantial, equivalent to cooling over 100 average-sized houses on a hot summer day.

To create the ideal conditions, Aggreko’s technical and design team has been planning with Ice Rink Events’ installation team for months and arrived one week prior to the competition to insure a smooth installation.

"There are many critical factors in creating a professional skating rink," said Mike Clayton, owner of Ice Rink Events and supplier for the U.S. Figure Skating Championships. "To deliver a top performance, a perfect foundation is essential. We have to work within a critical window of time to install a project of this scale while keeping the ice at a specific density. Working with a company such as Aggreko that has knowledge of the industry, as well as the technical expertise to operate at maximum capacity, are important factors. I have worked with Aggreko for several years and I trust their knowledge and expertise. No matter the conditions, their staff and equipment have always delivered."

"Aggreko is proud to be a part of the 2007 U.S. Figure Skating Championships," said Rick Strole, National Sales for Aggreko Event Services. "On performance day, these skaters have one thought on their mind, delivering their best performance. Our reliable equipment and experienced technicians teamed with Ice Rink Events’ wealth of experience enable us to create an ideal professional skating environment. With an event of this magnitude, there is no room for error."
