Telenor is a leading provider of communications services and one of the largest mobile operators worldwide. Telenor Pakistan is 100% owned by Telenor ASA and complements its operations in Asia together with Thailand, Malaysia and Bangladesh.
Telenor Pakistan has grown to become a leading telecom operator in its home market and is recognized as the fastest growing mobile network in the country, with coverage reaching deep into many of the remotest areas of Pakistan. Providing service in the most difficult terrains of the country, ranging from the hilly northern areas to the sprawling deserts in the south, Telenor Pakistan is sometimes the only operator with the capability to deliver coverage in these challenging environments, ensuring a robust national mobile communications network.
In order to maintain its commitment to offering a quality mobile communications service, the company was keen to identify the best solution to providing an uninterruptible power source to support the business. Having already worked with the local Cummins Power Generation distributor, Cummins Sales and Services Pakistan, on a highly successful turnkey project two years earlier, Telenor Pakistan needed no introduction to the company’s portfolio of power generation products and associated after sales services.
Cummins Power Generation stood up to close scrutiny during the final selection process, beating off competition from rival brands to win the prestigious Telenor Pakisan. Cummins Power Generation is now committed to the supply of six Cummins Power Generation C825 D5A (DFGD) generator sets powered by VTA28G6 engines and a paralleling system. The contract was awarded largely as a result of Cummins Power Generation's proven product reliability, combined with an economical after sales service.
