An Australian government-owned power station has appointed Alba Power to perform its Avon gas turbine overhaul. This was a rapid-response operation — from inspection to contract award and the Avon gas turbine being re-commissioned at site was only a matter of weeks. Alba Power was recommended to the government by another power station in Australia, which has stated that it in turn is also now happy to pass on an Alba Power recommendation to other gas turbine owners.
With approximately 10,000 miles and a 10hr time difference between the partners, there were steep logistical challenges to overcome, but Alba Power succeeded in meeting these by providing the client with a loan Avon for the overhaul term, along with valuable updates and keeping them involved and informed at every stage of the overhaul process.
"The depth of experience which underpins our overhaul processes, and the robustness of our quality management systems, make even long-range contracts like this relatively easy for us to accomplish," said Alba Power senior sales manager Grahame Martin. "With another 2010 Avon gas turbine overhauled and successfully tested under our belt, it maintains our track record of 100% first-time passes and firmly embeds Alba Power in the Avon gas turbine marketplace."
"We look forward to the Australian government continuing to be a regular client of Alba Power, and we expect not only to maintain our high levels of customer satisfaction but also to exceed them in future years."
