The Gas Turbine Services division (GTS) of international energy services company, John Wood Group, has signed a term maintenance agreement with BASF Schwarzheide to provide parts, repairs, field services and risk management for two GE Frame 6B gas turbine generator packages located in Schwarzheide, Germany.

This new agreement follows an existing term maintenance and long-term relationship that started six years ago at the BASF facility. Renewal of this agreement demonstrated Wood Group GTS’ ability to develop strong client relationships and provide exceptional maintenance solutions for gas turbine customers worldwide.

The process involved Wood Group GTS and BASF Schwarzheide working alongside each other to ensure a first-rate long term solution was created that focused on maintaining maximum availability and reliability for the facility. In addition to a strong technical knowledge, Wood Group GTS provided a flexible approach to the contract structure ensuring that the final agreement fully met the requirements and needs of BASF Schwarzheide.

Kerr Picken, vice president of sales for Wood Group GTS, commented: “Wood Group GTS’ reputation as the preferred alternative to an OEM is illustrated in this contract. The sound relationship between BASF Schwarzheide and Wood Group GTS has been fostered during the previous six year contract, and this agreement is a further testament of BASF Schwarzheide’s trust in Wood Group GTS’s capabilities.”
