Wood Group GTS has completed a major inspection contract with Origin Energy for a GE Frame 6B gas turbine at Roma Power Station in Queensland, Australia. Under the agreement, worth approximately $4m, Wood Group GTS provided manpower, sourcing and management of various sub-contract activities, as well as supplying outage consumables, APM® (Advanced Parts Manufacture) parts and compressor blades for the gas turbine.

Origin Energy is a major Australasian integrated energy company involved in gas and oil exploration and production, energy retailing and power generation. Operational since 1999, Roma Power Station sends all 74MW of power generated by its two gas turbines to the National Electricity Market.

Wood Group GTS was first appointed in 2009 to perform major inspection on one of the gas turbines at Roma. Wood Group GTS has since worked closely with Origin Energy to provide a consistent level of industry-leading service, quality and responsiveness to meet business needs for Roma Power station.
