Indianapolis – Frarendi, a combustion service hardware innovator, today introduces a new trailing edge replacement coupon for 7F and 7FA first stage nozzles. This development expands Frarendi's family of products to include leading edge and trailing edge replacement nozzles parts for a variety of land-based gas turbines. Both product lines facilitate a three-step repair process to quickly, easily and affordably cut-out, remove and replace eroded sections of first stage nozzles.

NEW REPLACEMENT COUPON TO REPAIR ERODED TRAILING EDGES
The new 7F/7FA trailing edge replacement coupons significantly reduce costs and increase efficiencies for repair shops. They can now offer a stronger, longer lasting, better looking repair by replacing the cracked and fatigued metal with a new vane (instead of welding or brazing the damaged and eroded part). Frarendi's coupon repair method more closely mirrors the composition, microstructure and properties of a new nozzle and extends the repair intervals by inhibiting crack initiation.
The 7F/7FA coupons contain the same FSX-414 metallurgical alloy as well as the same precision EDM (electrical discharge machining) holes as the original first stage nozzle. Each of the 7F/7FA coupons measures approximately 6in wide by 3.125in deep (15.24cm wide by 7.94cm deep) and extends deep enough to include the double row of cooling holes on the pressure side. Frarendi's trailing edge repair coupons can be customized with upgraded or modified cooling holes on both the trailing edge and the pressure side for special applications.
All of Frarendi's coupons are delivered ready for installation so repair shops do not need special equipment or machinery to perform replacements. Because Frarendi keeps most standard parts in stock, it offers a turnaround as fast as two weeks anywhere in the world.
