TransCanada Turbines awarded a $37 million long-term service agreement in the Gulf of Mexico

TransCanada Turbines Ltd (TCT), part of the Gas Turbine Services Division of John Wood Group PLC ('Wood Group') has been awarded a long-term service agreement worth $37 million over ten years with BP America Production Company for eleven General Electric LM2500 gas turbines on three deep-water platforms in the Gulf of Mexico. Work will begin on the contract mid-2004.
"This agreement brings the experiences of the operator and maintenance company into collaboration", said Pete Watson, Vice President Wood Group Gas Turbine Services. "The contract is innovative because of a warranty structure that was developed together with the goal to reduce the costs of maintenance while increasing reliability. TCT will also contribute to the safe work environment onshore and offshore."
