Wood Group Power Operations, Inc. (“WGPO”), part of the Gas Turbine Services Division of John Wood Group PLC (“Wood Group”), has been awarded a ten-year, $15.7million power plant services contract with Equus Power I, LP (“EQUUS”) at the customer’s simple-cycle peaking power station on Long Island, New York.

Under the contract, which combines both routine and planned on site power plant Operations & Maintenance (O&M), WGPO will provide mobilization, start-up assistance, continued plant O&M services, and scheduled major maintenance services.

Allister Langlands, Chief Executive of Wood Group’s Gas Turbine Services division, said: “This contract demonstrates Wood Group’s ability to deliver cost-effective, tailored long-term O&M services.”

Russell Martin, an asset manager for EQUUS, said: “We selected WGPO because they offer and deliver a truly value-added service contract and were creative in tailoring their services to our plant; additionally, we have enjoyed a successful relationship with WGPO, as they have been providing contracted services with affiliated power plants on the West Coast.”

The EQUUS contract is WGPO’s fourth O&M contract success so far this year, and represents the company’s third contract in New York State.
