GRID CONNECT SYSTEMS When a home or business owner is a net producer of electricity, power is put back into the grid and credited back to the owner of the property. Your power meter will be changed to a 'smart' digital metre. Our solar PV panels have a manufacturer's warranty of 25 years. With the new Federal Government incentives increased to AUD $8,000 per installation the cost payback period is approximately eight to ten years for the average 1kW system. REMOTE AREA POWER SUPPLIES (RAPS) If your house or business is located more than a kilometre from the nearest power line or when the cost of installing a power line is more than the cost of a renewable energy system, a RAPS may fulfil your requirements. NU Energy is one of Australia's leading RAPS design and installation companies. We have installed systems in some of the most remote and inhospitable places on earth, including Antarctica and Heard Island. Our systems include hybrid installation of solar PV panels, solar hot water, wind turbine, diesel generator and storage batteries. SOLAR HOT WATER Replacing your existing hot water cylinder system with solar hot water is generally the simplest way to significantly reduce your power bill. Your hot water system and fridge typically account for at least 50% of your power bill. The average cost of a complete solar hot water system is less than AUD $3,500 (excluding GST) after the Government rebate. The payback period is between three and a half to five years depending on your location and consumption. The manufacturers warranty for this type of system is up to ten years. Systems can be purchased with either electrical or gas boosters to ensure constant supply of hot water throughout the year.
