21 March 2005 10:57
Leading power generation packaging specialist TURBOMACH of Switzerland has won a major contract to provide equipment to power one of Egypt's most modern and productive tissue paper mills.
TURBOMACH, in conjunctions with Solar, has successfully supplied and commissioned a gas turbine generator package for operation in co-generation mode at the biggest, widest and fastest tissue-production plant in the Middle East at the Al Sindian Paper Mill SAE. Products of the mill, which is being developed by the Nuqul Group and supplied by Metso, will carry the brand-name Fine, designating the leading tissue brand in the Middle East-North Africa region.
The order comprises a TURBOMACH 14.3 MW turbo-generator package based on a Solar Titan T130 SoLoNox dry low emissions industrial gas turbine. It includes auxiliary equipment including fuel gas compressor, MV fittings and a dedicated exhaust system for directing hot gases to the tissue machine‘s drying process.
The initiative will allow Al Sindian to meet its entire electrical and thermal needs, reduce its overall production costs and enhance measures to protect the environment. TURBOMACH has emerged as a world-class innovator in dry low emission energy systems for the industrial sector, producing packages that meet the most stringent regulation.
Jaalo Poyry of Sweden is responsible for overall engineering aspects of the new tissue plant, which is expected to begin production in early 2005.
