Ishikawajima-Harima Heavy Industries - Power Plants and Environmental EquipmentIshikawajima-Harima Heavy Industries (IHI), founded in 1853, supplies primary equipment to the worldwide thermal, nuclear, hydroelectric and power generation industries. This equipment includes sliding pressure boilers and fluidised bed boilers, flue gas desulphurisation systems, gas turbines and heat recovery steam generators. IHI will continue to grow and expand to meet the demands of the 21st century with a particular awareness to the ever-changing environmental needs and policies of nations worldwide. STEAM GENERATORSIHI has broad capabilities in designing, manufacturing and constructing a variety of boilers ranging from small packaged boilers, with a capacity of 130kg/h, to super-critical pressure boilers with a steam generating capacity of over 3,000t/h for 1,050MW thermal power plant units. IHI's boiler design is very flexible, enabling it to be used for various kinds of fuel applications, such as coal, gas, oil, refuse, etc. IHI's super-critical sliding pressure boiler is capable of rapid start-up and extremely low load operations whilst maintaining high efficiency that meets the prospective demands of large capacity boilers for electric power plants under cycling load conditions. IHI has more than 20 units of supply record in the worldwide market of super-critical sliding pressure boilers with a capacity of 350MW to over 1,000MW for various fuels, gas, oil, coal and orimulsion® applications. IHI also have a broad product line of sub-critical pressure boilers, from small shop assembled units to stationary reheat-type boilers with a steam generating capacity of 3,000t/h. Furthermore, IHI offers fluidised bed boilers, including bubbling type, circulating type and a pressurized fluidised bed combustion system. IHI also supplies various-sized heat recovery steam generators for combined cycle power plants. ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION EQUIPMENTIHI has constructed a number of the most advanced flue gas desulphurisation (FGD) systems for utilities and industries worldwide, owing to our accumulated know-how and technology gained from many years of experience in integrated power plant engineering and construction. IHI has extensive experience in the following FGD processes and can meet various requirements:
IHI's flue gas NOx removal plant is the result of extended research and experimentation from the IHI Research Institute's developments, as well as tests using actual industrial flue gas. This NOx removal plant incorporates the dry selective catalytic reduction process using ammonia as a reducing agent, which is simple yet extremely effective in reducing NOx content. GAS TURBINE CO-GENERATION SYSTEMS, DIESEL GENERATORS, ADVANCED GAS ENGINES AND RENEWABLESIHI has been engaged in the research and development of aero-engines and aero-derivative gas turbines for over 50 years. Making the best use of manufacturing technology gained through this experience, IHI today supports the power generation industry with turbine generators from 1.0MW to 50MW and steam generation from 5t/hr to 55t/hr for gas turbine co-generation systems. IHI provides gas turbine combined cycle power plants with a capacity up to 150MW with its own gas turbines and heat recovery steam generators. IHI also assumes EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) projects, supplying GTCC power plants with an even greater power capacity. IHI established a new company, Niigata Power Systems Co., Ltd. on 3 February 2003, to take over and carry on the power systems business of Niigata Engineering Co., Ltd. With this initiative, IHI has positioned the manufacture and sale of a variety of diesel and advanced gas engines for marine, land and transportation use as the key components in our effort to develop and expand the diesel power generation and energy businesses. IHI is actively developing wind turbine, solar, and wave turbine power generating systems that utilize the forces of Mother Nature, an area where we have attained considerable success.
