Meeraner Dampfkesselbau has participated in the 49th Kraftwerkstechnisches Kolloquium in Dresden, Germany, which took place from 17-18 October.

More than 1000 participants and 84 exhibitors from all over the world took part at the event.

The colloquium, which is organized by the Technical University of Dresden and under the patronage of Martin Dulig (Saxon State Minister for Economics, Labour and Transport), is one of the most important renowned events in the power plant industry.

Like in the previous years, the lectures, presentations and discussions have been very interesting and were well-attended. A much-discussed topic (also beside the lectures) was the German energy revolution and the associated consequences and challenges for the whole energy sector. This subject will be on the agenda again next year, which will take place in the Golden Jubilee of the colloquium.

Topics this year have been:

  • New construction and pilot projects in the field of power plant technology
  • Combustion and steam boilers
  • Nuclear energy systems
  • Energy machinery
  • Process simulation, control and measurement technology
  • Grid technology
  • Operation and maintenance
