Sulzer Pumps will supply three water injection pump packages and topside API 610 process pumps for installation on a new FPSO vessel, which will operate in the Iracema Norte area of a pre-salt oil field, off the coast of Brazil.
This order further demonstrates that Sulzer Pumps as a recognised player for reliable, safe and efficient pumping packages for injection and other topside applications.
Pump packages will contain a total of 20 pumps. The direct drive type BB5 water injection pumps are driven with 5.8MW electric motors and feature back-to-back impeller designs, allowing high pressure delivered from a direct drive pumpset to minimise their footprint and reduce lube oil consumption. Various API 610 pumpsets, including OH2, OH3, OH1 and BB1 type pumps, are supplied for other topside process applications.
The pump packages are designed and manufactured at Sulzer Pumps’ manufacturing facility in Jundiaí, Brazil, meeting the local content requirements of the end customer, Petrobras. The FPSOs are scheduled to start operations in 2014.
Once they have, Sulzer Pumps will be involved in the commissioning and servicing of the equipment offshore through our service facility in Jundiaí. Sulzer Pumps currently has more than 1,300 installed bases for offshore work in service in Brazil for Petrobras.
