Denman Instrumentation is celebrating after securing a major contract with French power engineering company Alstom on a €1bn joint repowering and new construction project in the south-east of the Netherlands.
They have been invited to play a part in a complex project that will see the integration of three new gas turbines into a former steam power plant near Maastricht to form a 1,280MW combined cycle power plant. The project features the most advanced technology available for a power plant and will substantially reduce CO2 emissions by 40%.
Regionally, Denman has worked for organisations including Hull Royal Infirmary, BP Chemicals, Saltend Cogeneration and Interserve. Globally, it has completed projects as far afield as mainland Europe, South-East Asia, Dubai and Morocco.
Paul Denman, managing director, who will be working hands-on on the project, said: "The award of this contract continues to show that the company has the ability to work on a number of diverse projects worldwide. We are also delighted to continue our relationship with Alstom after providing instrumentation support to their projects for a number of years."
