Ormazabal, one of the leading manufacturers of medium-voltage switchgear worldwide, has supplied medium voltage switchgear and protection devices for the Turguttepe wind power plant project in Milas, Turkey.
The project is promoted by Gestamp wind and consists of 12 units of 2MW Vestas turbines. Ormazabal has provided and assembled 34 units of 36kV CGM.3 secondary type switchgear, which are installed inside the wind turbine tower, as well as six units of CPG.0 type primary distribution switchgear in the main distribution centre.
The wind power plant project is planned to generate 74.25GWh of energy per year. Operational start was in November 2010.
