TP Power Services provides integrated electrical engineering solutions for the generation, transmission and distribution of electricity up to 400kV, with services ranging from the design and manufacture of three-phase power and distribution transformers to the site installation, testing and commissioning of transformers of up to 1,000MVA.

Liquid-filled and specialist transformer design and manufacture

With transformer manufacture being our heritage, TPPS prides itself on the delivery of high quality, innovative and reliable transformers designed for lower energy losses and lower noise levels, and that are designed to meet our clients' network requirements.

Our full range of liquid-filled and specialist transformers includes:

• Liquid filled distribution transformers
• Liquid-filled power transformers of up to 100MVA at 132kV for the transmission of electrical energy
• Cast-resin transformers of up to 6,000kVA at 11kV with reduced environmental impact and increased safety
• Flameproof transformers of up to 12.2kV for hazardous environments within hydrocarbon, petrochemical and excavation industries
• Earthing transformers of up to 33kV as three-phase earthing points for high-voltage networks up to 400kV

Transformer installation and project management

TPPS deploys a trained team of erection, installation and commissioning engineers alongside a dedicated project manager to oversee every detail of a transformer installation project and liaise with the client throughout key stages of the installation process, with our technical experience ensuring that any issues identified during a project are presented to the client as solutions.

High-voltage generator transformer installation

The successful delivery of numerous projects has created a specialist team of engineers dedicated to the installation of high-voltage generator transformers on power stations throughout the UK.

Transformer inspection and maintenance contracts

TPPS's maintenance department offer bespoke inspection, asset surveys and maintenance packages for all distribution and power transformers, tapchangers, switchgear, circuit breakers and control gear within our clients' electrical network, all under our ethos that 'prevention is better than cure'.

As part of the service, our electrical design engineers can integrate modern and more efficient components as replacements to components specified at the time of your equipment's manufacture.

Transformer repair, refurbishment and up-rating

The detailed engineering information and experience gathered by working on many different types and brands of transformers allows us to inspect, diagnose and design solutions to identify transformer faults, extend the working life or up-rate the electrical requirements of our client's assets, using innovative techniques and modern components.

The majority of these services can be completed on-site through effective management according to our client's needs, with more invasive investigations taking place at our inspection and testing facility.

Transformer movement and disposal

TPPS is able to deliver complete turnkey packages for the strategic movement of transformers within a client's electrical network and combine this service with any other services within our portfolio. Our disposal service is supported and controlled environmentally by meeting ISO 14001 requirements.

The relocation of all sizes of transformer up to generator and transmission units is supported by a designated project manager and CAD schematics of the redesign layouts previous to movement. This ensures the transformer is situated with its ancillary equipment as per international standards.
