The transformer protection RET670 and bay control REC670 of the Relion® 670 series are now available with capacitor bank protection. This function detects dangerous operation situations and enables trip before any damage in the capacitor units occurs.
The capacitor bank protection of RET670 and REC670 includes peak-based overcurrent protection and undercurrent, harmonic overload, reactive power overload protection as well as reconnection inhibit features to provide maximum protection for capacitor bank units vulnerable for different phenomena occurring in the power system.
The 670 series, with native support for IEC 61850, is part of ABB's Relion product family.
