TRANSFORM 2011, which took place in Singapore from 19-20 April, has set a new record in the more than ten-year history of this trade congress. With 450 high-profile guests from 46 nations, the number of interested parties was higher than ever before. They were very impressed by the exhibition and the technical presentations by TRANSFORM partners MR, OMICRON, HSP & Trench bushing group, Nynas, PFISTERER, Röchling Engineering Plastics, ThyssenKrupp Electrical Steel, KREMPEL Group, LS Cable-Essex and GEA Heat Exchangers.
The offerings at the event were also more varied than ever before. The participants could choose to compile their own personal program from a total of 26 presentations. The start of the event, an evening get-together, took place at a spectacular location. From a height of 200m, the guests were able to enjoy the breathtaking view of the metropolis by night from the specially reserved observation platform of the Marina Bay Sands Hotel.
The opening event commenced the next day with a moment of silence for the victims of the Japanese tsunami. This year's compere was the TV presenter Paula Malai Ali, who is well-known in Asia. As in previous years, many of the subsequent technical presentations were so well attended that even standing room was in short supply in some of the rooms. The topics ranged from HVDC submarine cables to special steel for energy-efficient transformers and intelligent system solutions for future distribution networks.
