Marioff Corporation Oy - Hi-Fog Solution for Power GenerationSince 1990 Marioff has developed a range of HI-FOG water mist fire protection solutions for a wide variety of applications. For protection against potential oil fires in industrial applications, the company provides FM approved high-pressure mist systems, which have a number of significant features and associated benefits. The HI-FOG technology combines optimum suppression performance, minimal damage to equipment and inherent personnel safety whilst remaining environmentally benign. HI-FOG is the leading water mist technology with more approved systems and a larger reference list than any other water mist manufacturer today. In-house fire protection expertise is available for:
HI-FOG - EFFICIENT FIRE EXTINGUISHINGHI-FOG systems have passed the FM 'distortion test' with a 'continuous discharge' technique using small quantities of water, initially at a rate, droplet size and density adequate for flame suppression, and subsequently at a lower rate to prevent re-ignition. This means efficient fire extinguishing with minimal water usage, and no possibility of turbine casing distortion. In addition, efficient radiant heat blocking by the fine mist means that there is minimal fire damage to ancillary equipment in the space. HI-FOG - LEADING WATER MIST TECHNOLOGYA pre-engineered FM approved HI-FOG system for protecting gas turbines will consist of a power unit, nozzles, interconnecting tubing and necessary valve and control units. Systems are tailored to the customer's specific requirements, in particular with regard to interface with detection systems. There are three power unit options: the MAU, GPU or SPU, which are chosen to suit the size of enclosure. MAU (MACHINERY SPACE ACCUMULATOR UNIT)Protects turbine enclosures <260m³, uses stored nitrogen cylinders and non-pressurised water cylinders. A signal from the detection system opens a valve to release the nitrogen, which drives the water from the water cylinders in a controlled sequence to the HI-FOG nozzles. GPU (GAS-DRIVEN PUMP UNIT)Approved for protecting spaces <500m³, also uses stored nitrogen cylinders, but these are used to drive a special pump. In this case the detection system signal opens a valve to release the nitrogen to the pump. The pump drives the water / nitrogen mixture in a controlled sequence to the HI-FOG nozzles. Water is normally stored in a dedicated tank on the unit, but for extended operation it may be externally supplied. SPU (SPRINKLER PUMP UNIT)Incorporates a number of electrically driven pumps, and is used for the largest spaces. Should electric power be unavailable, the SPUD direct diesel-driven pump units are specific instead. HI-FOG BENEFITS
