Based in the UK, Empower delivers expert vocational training for the power production / distribution, processing and engineering industries. We provide training for a wide range of industrial workplaces from power generation to food processing facilities. Empower has operated for 30 years as a specialist trainer within the UK electricity supply industry and is capable of providing custom-made training and consultancy services that address the individual needs of clients.

Empower offers rapid, efficient and affordable training solutions - anything from short refresher courses to detailed in-house training schemes. Empower strives to enhance the technical competence of staff through a mixture of classroom-based work and practical experience in the workplace.

Empower's high quality training services were recognised in 2003 when the company received a National Training Award and gained a ROSPA gold medal for health and safety.

Empower training and consultancy programs serve to enhance professional confidence, technical competency among plant operators and safety awareness in the power generation industry.

We offer courses in low / high voltage equipment use; power generation and distribution; control and instrumentation; health and safety and other areas.

Our customised power and engineering training schemes are clearly organised into stages of design, administration and implementation. Empower analyses the specific training needs of its clients, plans manpower issues and offers plant maintenance advice, project management and technical recruitment expertise.

POWER INDUSTRY TRAINING / SIMULATION FACILITIES

Empower's £2 million, specially-constructed training site contains a number of power plant simulators that deliver a wide range of training scenarios. Our equipment is also portable, ensuring that training can also be conducted at the client's own facilities.

We provide electrical switchgear, cable jointing and overhead line facilities to support high quality distribution training, as well as a broad spectrum of switches, transformers and package substations.

A network of cable jointing bays enables us to deliver a full range of low and high voltage workplace simulations from short pole top rescue courses to complete 11kV overhead linesman training programmes.

Our engineering workshops are equipped to simulate process engineering facilities for mechanical, electrical and instrumentation training purposes, including work with PLC and SCADA systems.

ACCREDITED TRAINING

Empower's bespoke training solutions for the power industry offer a dynamic mix of on-site practical training and workshop / classroom-based work. An ISO9001:2000 company, Empower is the only Centre of Vocational Excellence (CoVE) in the UK that provides training for the electrical power industry. We are committed to tackling the significant skills shortage within this national industry.

Empower is accredited by the Science, Engineering and Manufacturing Technologies Alliance (SEMTA) - the Sector Skills Council for engineering - and is recognised as an approved training centre for the Energy, Utilities and Waste Sector Skills Council.

Empower is qualified to provide NVQs, and is accredited by RoSPA, the Institute of Management, City and Guilds of London Institute and the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH).
