Rheinmetall Wins Contract to Build Engineering Simulator for E.ON Power Plant in Datteln

27 February 2008 14:16

Rheinmetall has been elected to support the challenging new plant construction at Datteln, where E.ON is building the first coal-fired power plant with an 1100 MW super-critical boiler right now. The engineering simulator will be used to streamline with cost saving effect, the working process during the construction, commissioning and operation phase of the project.

Replica characteristics of the simulator is achieved by the outstanding high accuracy of the process models as well as the use of an emulation of the plant I&C which is contributed by the manufacturer ABB. The quality of the simulation will be certified in stages over the course of the construction phase.

Rheinmetall's engineering simulator provides for an efficient tool, to improve process optimisation and quality management as well as to allow for early full scope operator training.
