A Baby is Born: Starstream

30 November 2005 16:21

Starsteam was born from mixing two designs. the existing "Starflow" and the previous "Sarasin V5". The main differences consist of a modified disc design, larger seat surfaces and improved guiding. The test, already performed on a customer 's boiler, show a valuable improvement on tightness and setting stability. The valves tested were 4"x6" N orifice valves with a set pressure of 63 barg. Further batches of tests will be carried out within the next 4/6 months. However, with these positive results, it has been already decided to replace systematically all the Starflow range of valves to be set above 50 barg by the Starsteam range.

Starsteam fulfil the requirements of ASME Sect VIII and complies with API 526 within the pressure class 600 # and 900# where applicable.

Starsteam will also be subject to National Board certification, once all test batches are completed.
