UN Climate Change Conference in December 2009: Copenhagen Accord
21 January 2010The Copenhagen Accord sets out the agreement reached by global leaders at the UN Climate Change Conference in December 2009. It details the need for enhanced action and international cooperation on reducing emissions.
Through the accord, world leaders have agreed that deep cuts in global emissions are required to hold the increase in global temperature below 2°C. Based on this agreement, annex 1 countries will commit to individually determined emissions targets for 2020.
