Optimised Capacity: Global Trends and Issues

01 September 2010

The World Nuclear Association has released this report, aiming to identify the means by which nuclear operators can determine and attain optimal capacity at nuclear plants.

The study establishes a status baseline and analyses the present scenario of the global nuclear industry and the dominant issues in utilisation of the installed power base of the current nuclear fleet.

The research examines four key areas for development – root cause analysis for unplanned energy loss, case studies in managing planned energy loss, investigation of aging plants and development of a mathematical model of optimal capacity.
