Planning Our Electric Future: a White Paper for Secure, Affordable and Low-Carbon Electricity
19 July 2011The UK secretary of state for energy and climate change presented this white paper, which contains the proposals to reform the electricity market, setting out the government's commitment to transform the UK's electricity system to ensure that our future electricity supply is secure, low-carbon and affordable.
It indicates the need to make an investment of £110bn, which is equal to the construction of 20 large power stations, and upgrade the grid.
