Jatropha Biodiesel: Key to Attainment of Sustainable Rural Bioenergy Regime in India

22 February 2012

The Scholar Research Library has drafted this white paper to outline the role of Jatropha biodiesel, which is key to the accomplishment of the sustainable rural bioenergy regime in India.

The paper states that diesel, the largest consumed petro-product in India, is largely used in rural areas for agricultural purposes as well as meeting other energy needs.

Biofuels generated and used in rural areas may provide employment, energy, less dependency on diesel, climate improvement, food security and improvements in living standards, thus stopping migration of people towards urban areas.
