Energias do Brasil to Build Brazilian Plant11 April 2007 11:51 Energias do Brasil has announced the acquisition of rights to build a 350MW imported-coal thermal plant in northern Brazil. The total cost for the Maranhao-based project is estimated at €335m for the EDP Energias de Portugal SA subsidiary, with the plant taking three-and-a-half years to build. Energias do Brasil has paid an initial €1.8m for the project and will hand over an additional €5.5m when the purchase power agreement is signed.
