Hitachi to Develop Three European Power Plants

The Nikkei has reported that a ¥300bn contract for three large coal-fired power plants from major European utility Electrabel SA has been won by Hitachi Ltd.

One plant will be constructed at a new Electrabel facility in Rotterdam, Netherlands, and the other two in Germany, the financial daily said. Each will have capacity of 800,000kW.

Hitachi is also in negotiations for two more power plants that Electrabel plans to build in Germany, the Nikkei claimed.
