E.ON Plans More UK Wind Farms29 August 2007 16:09 German power company E.ON plans to generate power for 200,000 homes in the UK with a new wind farm of 80 turbines. The proposed Humber Gateway Offshore Wind Farm will be located 8km off the Yorkshire coast in the north of England. The company says it plans to focus its investments into "renewables on wind power and bio natural gas" and has earmarked around €3bn for various projects until 2010. The company is also planning to open a wind park in London's Thames Estuary called the 'London Array' which will generate 1,000MW of energy. 20 more onshore and offshore wind parks are also being planned.
