Spanish Wind Farms Set to Float

The world's largest wind farm operator and owner of UK based energy company Scottish Power, Iberenova is to raise capital to finance new projects by floating on the stock market.

The Iberenova division is expected to list between €16bn and €20bn next month in Madrid.

The company owns wind farms with a capacity of 6,500MW in addition to 350MW of hydroelectric power.

The company is planning a further 40,000MW of wind farms.

Credit Suisse, JPMorgan, Merrill Lynch, Morgan Stanley and the Spanish bank BBVA are handling the float, according to UK newspaper The Independent.
