US Power Company Buys Wind Energy

A subsidiary of US energy company American Electric Power (AEP) has signed a 20-year purchase agreement with a wind farm under construction in Illinois.

Appalachian Power is to buy 75MW from the 150MW Camp Grove wind farm as part of an attempt by parent company AEP to add 1,000MW of new wind energy by 2011, according to Associated Press.
