US Plans to Build Two New Nuclear Reactors27 September 2007 15:22 US energy company NRG Energy has filed an application to build and operate two new nuclear power reactors at the South Texas Project nuclear power station, the first full nuclear plant application in the US for 29 years. The total capacity of the $6.75bn project for the advanced boiling water reactor units will equal or exceed 2,700MW, according to US Environment News Service.
