Oz Abandons Biofuel Plans

15 October 2007 14:54

Plans to build two large-scale biofuel plants in Victoria, Australia have been halted due to the "current biofuels market outlook" in the country.

Australian based Biofuels Company Agri Energy was planning two A$100m ethanol plants at Swan Hill and Murtoa in north-western Victoria but has abandoned development plans ahead of next year, according to Australia's ABC news.

The decision is based on a lack of government and community support for the projects, a spokesman for Agri Energy told ABC.
