Iberdrola Plans €24.2bn Investment

Spanish energy company Iberdrola plans to invest a total of €24.2bn until 2010, of which €6.4bn will be earmarked to complete the acquisition of US-based energy company Energy East, with the remaining €17.89bn for organic expansion in Spain, the UK and US.

Following its integration with UK-based ScottishPower, Iberdrola now generates 40,749MW around the world with an installed capacity of 7,342MW in renewables, generated mostly by wind energy.
