Conergy Secures US$8bn Solar Deal

26 October 2007 16:37

German renewable energy company Conergy has secured a US$8bn deal for solar module materials with US technology manufacturer MEMC Electronic Materials.

MEMC is to supply wafers – an essential raw material used to make solar panels – up to 2018.

Conergy says the agreement secures an important share of its long-term raw material requirements for its fully integrated solar power plant in Frankfurt, which will reach full production capacity by spring 2008.
