Turkey Given Go Ahead for Power Plant Plans

09 November 2007 11:04

Turkey plans to build new nuclear power plants to avert an energy shortfall after the country's parliament passed laws giving go-ahead this week.

The new law enables the government to grant purchase guarantees to firms for the total energy produced at nucelar power plants.

The country's Energy Ministry will determine the final details of the tender with qualifications for bidding companies to be published within a month, writes Reuters.
