E.ON Announces Power Plans for Belgium

German energy giant E.ON has announced plans to build a €1.5bn coal-fired power plant in Belgium.

The "highly efficient" 1,100MW combined heat and power-plant will be located in deep waters near Antwerp harbour.

The plant, which will supply both industry and homes with steam and heat, will be built to be carbon capture ready with 46 percent efficiency.
