US Government Must Avoid Environmental "Tipping Point"

13 December 2007 16:13

The US Government must take action to fight global warming, a leading energy company executive told delegates at Power-Gen International in New Orleans this week.

US energy company Entergy's executive vice president of operations Mark Savoff called on the US Government to avoid the "tipping point", after which the effects of green house gases cannot be reversed.

Savoff called for "climate oriented legislation" and market-wide cap and trade which would offer "the most efficient economic solution" for the entire power generation industry.
